Expectations
What you should expect from your farrier.
- We will act with Integrity, Honesty and Openness with you, the client.
- We will arrive 15 to 30 minutes ahead of time so we are ready to work at the appointed time.
- We will give notification immediately if unavoidably detained.
- We will call the day before to verify the appointment.
- We will always share current information that will help you better care for your horse.
- We will discuss in advance options and fees for therapeutic work.
- We will refer you to another professional if it will be in the best interest of your horse.
- We will always treat you and your horse with respect.
- If working on your horse becomes unsafe, for horse or farrier, we will advise you of the options before proceeding.
- We will do our best to meet or exceed your expectations; and you will be the best judge of that.
What is expected from you, “The client”.
- To be open and honest with me.
- Committed to providing for your horses welfare.
- Provide me with all the information necessary to help your horse.
- Be present or have a representative present, when I work on your horse.
- Provide a safe, dry, and well-lighted place to work.
- Pay account upon receipt, unless other arrangements have been made.
- Refer others whom you believe can benefit from my service.
Benefits of Wallace’s Farrier Service:
- We run a professional business, with a mobile shop.
- We service by appointment only, selected clients who desire quality work.
- Jim has over 10 years of experience in traditional style trimming, shoeing and corrective shoeing; and is now studying the Natural Balance System of trimming and shoeing.
Terms and Conditions of Service
- Payment is expected immediately after services are rendered.
- Someone must be available to catch and hold the horse and present payment.
- Horse must be trained and well mannered, work will stop if horse presents a safety hazard to me or the animal.
- Training charges will be assessed if physical restrained or schooling is necessary.
- Veterinary services to administer chemical restraint must be arranged in advance.
- 24-hour notice prior to the appointment must be given for any changes.
- Adding or subtracting horses
- Changing schedule of what is to be done to a horse
- Canceling of an appointment. (After 24 hours may result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the total projected fee).
Fuel and Travel Charges:
Wallace’s Farrier Service strives to keep prices reasonable, consistent and fair to our clients. We are in business to make a modest but reasonable profit, at this time we find it necessary to add a fuel service charge due to the nation wide increase in fuel prices.
- Fuel Service Charge is added according to the following schedule:
- If you are out of the Clark County Area
- Fifty cents (.50) per mile one way (AAA mileage guide)
- Fuel Service charge is bases on the following factors:
- Rising price of fuel per gallon
- Rising prices of yearly truck expenses and maintenance
- Time and distance involved in reaching customer
Overnight Charges:
If two or more days are required to shoe several horses, an overnight charge will be added to the bill. Overnight charges are expenses to stay the night. (Motel, Meals)
Overnight charge is a flat fee of $80.00 per night and will be collected at the same time the trimming/shoeing bill is paid.
